Product Description
The CMC 2AB2-600 is a high-performance, dual-rated aluminum mechanical lug engineered for heavy-duty industrial and commercial power distribution. This multi-conductor terminal is precision-machined from high-strength 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and features the patented PosiGrip® design, ensuring a low-resistance, electrically secure joint even under the stress of thermal expansion.
With two dedicated wireways, the 2AB2-600 allows for the secure termination of two large conductors in a single, space-efficient block. Its 2-hole mounting pad provides maximum stability and anti-rotation, making it the professional choice for panelboards, switchgear, and motor control centers.

Key Features & Benefits
-
Patented PosiGrip® Design: Features unique ridges on the contact surface that penetrate oxide layers on the conductor, creating multiple contact points to eliminate "hot spots" and ensure a gas-tight electrical bond.
-
Extended Screw Compression: Clamping screws are designed to extend beyond the barrel sides, spreading conductor strands to help dissipate heat and improve pull-out safety.
-
Dual-Rated (AL9CU): Fully certified for use with both Copper (Cu) and Aluminum (Al) conductors, providing maximum flexibility across diverse infrastructure projects.
-
Positive Wire Stop: Built-in wire stop ensures the conductor is inserted to the correct depth every time, preventing interference and ensuring full engagement with the terminal.
-
High-Strength Construction: 6061-T6 aluminum provides a nearly 2:1 yield strength advantage over cast alloys, permitting an extra margin of safety under high-torque installation.
Technical Installation Notes
-
Wrench Size: Typically requires a 3/8" hex socket for the set screws.
-
Torque Requirement: For 600 MCM conductors, recommended torque is 375–500 in-lbs. Always check the specific manufacturer labeling on the lug body for final verification.
-
High-Voltage Use: When used in circuits above 600V (up to 35kV), ensure proper spacing and high-voltage insulation techniques are applied per NEC guidelines.
