Product Description
The Penn Union L2A-500 is a high-capacity, dual-barrel mechanical terminal designed to terminate two separate conductors to a single mounting point. Precision-fabricated from high-strength 6061-T6 extruded aluminum alloy, this lug is engineered for maximum reliability in high-amperage panelboards, switchgear, and transformer secondary connections. Its specialized range-taking design safely supports wire sizes from 4 AWG up to 500 kcmil (MCM) per port.
Every L2A-500 is finished with premium electro-tin plating to ensure exceptionally low contact resistance and to provide a permanent barrier against oxidation and galvanic corrosion. As a dual-rated (CU9AL) connector, it provides a safe, code-compliant bond for both copper and aluminum conductors in standard 600V power distribution systems.

Key Features & Benefits
-
High-Capacity Parallel Bonding: Terminates two large 500 MCM conductors into one mounting point, making it ideal for high-amp main feeders and industrial motor leads.
-
Extruded 6061-T6 Alloy: Unlike cast lugs, the extruded aluminum body provides superior structural integrity and high conductivity under heavy mechanical loads.
-
Bimetallic Safety: Specifically engineered to safely connect dissimilar metals (Aluminum to Copper) without the risk of thermal failure or chemical degradation.
-
Solderless Mechanical Connection: Features rugged set-screws that provide high-pressure termination using a standard internal hex drive—no expensive hydraulic crimping tools required.
-
Industry Standard Certification: UL Listed and CSA Certified to meet the rigorous safety standards required for modern industrial power systems.
